Dr. Lillea Hartwell, ND, RH (AHG) is an award-winning licensed naturopathic doctor, registered herbalist, scholar and philanthropist. She graduated with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University of Health Sciences). Dr. Hartwell sought extra training through apprenticeships with herbalists, intravenous (IV) compounding, botanical medicine research, and studied indigenous uses of botanical medicine in regions all over the globe. In her treatment plans she bridges the traditional uses of plant medicines (& other modalities) with evidenced based practices. This is important because plants are not benign, they have great power just like pharmaceuticals. In addition to graduating with her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, she also has a Bachelors in Plant Sciences and minor in Environmental Sciences from the University of Arizona where she graduated cum laude with Honors. Her passion lies in general medicine, especially in acute care settings, including wound care and minor surgery, rheumatology, and other autoimmune conditions. She embraces obstacles as tools to learn and grow. Botanical medicine, mind-body techniques, clinical nutrition are just some of the modalities she uses to do this.
