So what are some tools that I, as a naturopath, have at my disposal? What follows is a brief overview but we will be diving into each modality individually in future posts:
- Botanical medicine including botanical tinctures, teas, nutraceuticals, and steam inhalations
- Nutritional medicine including identifying and treating vitamin deficiencies or food sensitivities
- Intravenous therapy and intramuscular therapies
- Minor surgical procedures including cryotherapy, histofreeze, currettage and hyfrecation, surgical excision, suture removal, and acrochordon removal
- Traditional Chinese Medicine including acupuncture, ear seeds, gua sha, cupping, and herbal formulations
- Hydrotherapy including infrared sauna, constitutional hydrotherapy, wet sheet wraps,
- Physical medicine including craniosacral, kinesiotaping, physical manipulation, regenerative injection therapies, soft tissue manipulation, physiotherapy tools (i.e. frequency specific microcurrent, biomodulator, iontophoresis, and therapeutic ultrasound)
- Lifestyle medicine including exercise, hydration, sleep hygiene, stress management
- Environmental medicine
- Homeopathic medicines
- Pharmacology including topical creams, compounded medications, and other prescription drug therapies
